                                                                                      Intake

 

During the intake portion of your treatment, I will spend time getting to know you and your health concerns. I will look at your intake forms and ask clarifying questions in order to make sure that I understand your health history and any medications that you may be taking in order to have a holistic picture of your current health state. Additional questions about your symptoms will be asked such as eating, exercise, sleep habits, emotional states, and anything that may offer insight into your chief complaint. Initial intakes are more in-depth while follow up intakes inquire on changes 

 

                                                                            Tongue and Pulse

 

I will ask you to stick out your tongue so that I can look at the color, coat, and moisture. The tongue provides insight on your fluid intake, digestion, and energy state. I will feel pulses on both sides of your hands taking note of rate, depth, and quality providing additional insight for your treatment on TCM and acupuncture pattern.

                                               

          

                                                                         Acupuncture Session

 

I will insert the acupuncture needles at your comfort in collaboration with deep breathing or soothing music. You will feel a slight pinch upon insertion similar to a mosquito bite followed by a dull achy sensation (Qi sensation) signaling that the acupuncture point is in the right place; all of this disappears after a couple of seconds. Acupuncture points are personalized to achieve overall health and will help put your body back in balance catering to your chief complaint. The needles will be retained for 30 -40 minutes in which most patients go into a relaxed state and even fall asleep. After 30-40 minutes, the needles will be pulled and disposed of.

 

                                               

                                                            Health Report and Treatment Plan


After your acupuncture treatment is over, your practitioner will go over your Holistic Health Report and set expectations on an estimated duration and frequency of acupuncture treatments needed. The Holistic Health Report will provide lifestyle changes and eastern nutritional dietary modifications which will work hand in hand with your acupuncture treatment.
