How Acupuncture Allows You To Hold Space for Yourself and Others

Acupuncture is a way to connect with yourself and to honor your own space. With more than 400 acupuncture points and 12 different channels to choose from, an individualized acupuncture protocol is implemented to balance patients on the physical, mental and emotional level. As acupuncturists we must ask patients the difficult questions which facilitate healing. We encourage each patient to break free of the mindset of disease in order to allow for connection with self.

For example, needling acupuncture points HT7 and PC6 activates the frontal and temporal lobe which helps with judgement, emotion and memories while other point protocols of LIV 3 and LI 11 help eliminate excess anger and repressed emotions which have build up over time. By activating these acupuncture points, we facilitate healing and hold space for each patient while also encouraging them to hold space for themselves.

Holding space with others means that we are willing to walk along side one another in whatever journey we are on without judgement, making them feel inadequate, trying to fix them or trying to control the outcome of the situation. To honor the space they are in and bear witness to any physical, mental or emotional pain they are going through while fostering a place of support or acceptance. In doing so, we create a space in their life where not every situation needs a reaction. We allow them to take back the power that they unconsciously or consciously gave away to other people and situations while reconnecting the physical, mental and emotional aspects of self.

In the end, acupuncture treatments are a reminder that we are not the diseases we are diagnosed with, the people who have hurt us or the negative experiences in life. We are perfectly imperfect beings on the journey to health and happiness. It's time to allow acupuncture to help you in your healing journey!
